The Work Progress as at 31st July 2010

Not much activity was carried out on Site during the month. In the early period of the month, the Contractor spent time in getting the ceiling of the Shrine Hall painted and minor preparatory work for the Buddha Image installation.

The Buddha Image was stored in the open, outside the Shrine Hall for a couple of months since its delivery and had been patiently awaiting the hall to be ready.

Installation of the Buddha Image commenced on the 19th July 2010 afternoon with the help of two heavy machinery. The Contractor and the nearby devotees finally managed to place the Image up on the altar by 9.00pm that day.

Positioning of the Buddha Image on the altar continued the next morning with the presence of Chief monk, Ven. Saranakara and his monks from the Sentul Temple. A brief puja was subsequently conducted by the monks followed by dana given by the devotees.
